Irrillion are a duo from Venezuela that plays an instrumental form of atmospheric black metal and this is a review of their self released 2016 ep "Egledhron".
Acoustic guitar playing starts off the ep along with some nature sounds in the background before going into a heavier and darker direction and after awhile the music speeds up along with some tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the music more of a raw black metal feeling and a couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length.
No vocals or song writing are ever utilized and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and you can also hear touches of doom metal in the slower sections of t he songs and clean guitars can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and as the ep progresses acoustic guitars also return briefly while t he main focus is more on a heavier style.
Irillion plays a style of atmospheric black metal that is more guitar driven and raw than most bands of the genre while also keeping everything in all instrumental musical direction and the production sounds very dark and raw.
In my opinion Irillion are a very great sounding instrumental, atmospheric black metal duo and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Tierra Negra(Parte One)" and "Egledhron". 8 out of 10.
