Eufori are a duo that has been featured before in this zine and plays depressive, suicidal black metal with elements of post punk and this is a review of their 2016 album "Humorsvangningar" which will be released in October by black Lion Productions.
A very distorted yet melodic guitar sound starts off the album and acoustic guitars can also be heard at times and the vocals are mostly depressive black metal screams and the solos and leads also use a great amount of melody and the music is also very heavily influenced by post punk and all of the musical instruments sound very powerful.
Most of the songs stick either to a very slow or mid paced musical direction and you can also hear punk elements being mixed in with grim screams and some of the riffs have a happy edge to them which also makes the depressive side of the songs have a different affect and there is also a brief use of spoken word parts and when regular singing is utilized briefly it adds an influence of goth rock onto the recording and one song also brings in tragic sounding keyboards while a later track also uses a small amount of blast beats and the tremolo picking also gives the music more of a raw black metal feeling.
Eufori plays a style of black metal that is very depressive and melodic while also mixing in elements of goth and post punk which makes their songs sound a little bit more different, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Swedish and cover suicidal and depressive themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Eufori and if you are a fan of depressive black metal with a touch of post punk, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Avgrund" "Inget mer" and "Eufori". 8 out of 10.
