Orewoet are a band from the Netherlands that plays a very raw and old school form of black metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Afrodisiacum Der Vroomheid" which was released as a joint effort between Heidens Hart Records and Amor Fati.
A very raw black metal sound along with some tremolo picking starts off the album and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard while the vocals are mostly high pitched screams and the music also brings in a great amount of o0ld school and Finnish influences into their style.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some morbid sounding melodies and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and when guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very dark yet melodic fashion while most of the tracks are very long and epic in length and the whole album also remains very heavy and raw beginning to ending of the recording.
Orewoet plays a style of black metal that is very raw and old school in the Finnish tradition and also ignores all of the modern trends and also takes the genre back to its roots, the production sounds very dark, raw and old school while the lyrics are written in a mixture of English and Dutch and cover dark themes.
In my opinion Orewoet are a very great sounding raw and old school style black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Feeding the Ocean With Blood" and "Earless For Divine Intervention". 8 out of 10.
