Ze'oth are a solo project from an unknown location that plays an instrumental mixture of black metal and drone and this is a review of his self released 2016 ep "Grimogonia".
Dark yet heavy guitar riffs start off the ep along with some programmed beats and ambient style synths and when t he music speeds up it utilizes tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the music more of a raw black metal feeling and most of the songs are instrumental with no vocals or song writing being used.
Melodies can be heard in some of the riffing and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and when guitar leads are utilized they also stick to a very melodic direction and the songs also incorporate elements of drone and as the ep progresses a brief use of high pitched black metal screams and deep growls are added onto the recording.
Ze'oth plays a musical style that is mostly instrumental and takes a very raw and atmospheric style of black metal to create a style of his own, the production sounds very dark and raw while the song themes focus on the dark and disturbing side of life.
In my opinion Ze'oth are a very great sounding instrumental mixture of black metal and ambient and if you a re a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Regal" and "Damnation, the Souls Are Suffering". 8 out of 10.
