Lux Ferre are a band from Portugal that plays a very raw and satanic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Excaecatio Lux Vertatis" which was released on cassette by War Productions.
A very distorted sound starts off the album and after awhile the music gets more heavier along with the riffs using a great amount of melody and tremolo picking which also gives the music more of a raw feeling while the vocals are mostly high pitched screams and when t he music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard.
Throughout the recording there is a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some of the tracks are very long and epic in length while the music also brings in a decent mixture of both modern and old school influences and the guitar solos and leads are done in a very dark and melodic fashion and when synths are utilized they give the songs more of a ritualistic Feeling and as the album progresses a brief use of depressive screams can be heard and you can also h ear all of t he musical instruments that are present on the recording.
Lux Ferre plays a style of black metal that is very dark and heavy while also having its raw moments, the production sounds very dark and heavy while the lyrics are written in their native tongue and cover Satanism, Anti Christianity, War and hatred themes.
In my opinion Lux Ferre are a very great sounding raw and aggressive satanic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "A Luz Ofuscante da Verdade" "Cancao De Lcura" and "Sob O Veu Da Ignorancia". 8 out of 10.
