Antimateria are a band from Finland that plays a cosmic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Valo Aikojen Takaa" which was released by Purity Through Fire Records.
A very atmospheric ambient style intro starts off the album and after t he intro the music goes into a heavier direction while also retaining the atmospheric elements as well as a great amount of high pitched black metal screams and the riffs also use a great amount of melody and when t he music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic fashion and some of the tracks are long and epic in length and there is also a brief use of acoustic guitars on one of the tracks and most of the songs stick to either a slow or mid paced direction while the faster sections when they are utilized give t he songs more of a raw black metal feeling.
Antimateria plays a style of black metal that is very atmospheric and cosmic sounding, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Finnish and cover darkness and nature themes.
In my opinion Antimateria are a very great sounding cosmic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Tieni Kohti Lopullista Tuhoa" and "Valo Aikojen Takaa". 8 out of 10.
