Suicide Circle are a duo from France with members from Mutiilation, Hell Militia, Morguiiath and Dhamurgh that plays a depressive form of black metal and this is a review of their 2020 demo which will be released in August by Osmose Productions.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the demo while most of the tracks are also very long and epic in length. All of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them along with the vocals being mostly grim yet depressive black metal screams and melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing.
When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats and tremolo picking can be heard which also gives the music more of a raw feeling. The songs also add in a good amount of 90's and early 2000's era influences along with a brief use of war battle sounds and the songs stick mostly to a slow or mid tempo style.
Suicide Circle plays a style of depressive black metal that goes back to the early days of the genre. The production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics cover destruction of humanity, mass chaos and spiritual nihilism themes.
In my opinion Suicide Circle are a very great sounding depressive black metal duo and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Prophet Of Doomsday" and "The Sphere Of Chaos". 8 out of 10.
