Necromante are a band from Brazil that plays an occult form of black metal and this is a review of their 2022 album "XI" which will be released in March by Iron Bonehead Productions.
Ritualistic style keyboards start off the album along with some spoken word parts and grim black metal screams a few seconds later before going into a heavier direction. Dark sounding melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast b eats can be heard.
The songs also mix in a good amount of 80's and early 90's South American influences while the tracks also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Some of the riffing also adds in touches of doom, thrash metal and the first wave era along a couple of the tracks also being brief acoustic and keyboard instrumentals.
When tremolo picking is utilized they also give the songs more of a raw feeling along with all of the musical instruments on the recording also having a very powerful sound to them. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic yet old school style as well as some tracks also adding in elements of deathrock. The production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics cover Occultism, Black Magick and Luciferian themes.
In my opinion Necromante are a very great sounding occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Lucifer Rising" "XI (The Dark Night Of The Soul)" "Sentence Of The Dead" and "The Venom Between The Gods". 8 out of 10.
