Adaga are a duo from Brazil that plays an unplugged form of black metal and this is a review of their 2022 album "Nas Ruinas do Ser" which will be released on October by Altare Productions.
Clean playing starts off the album while the vocals are mostly grim yet high pitched sounding black metal screams along with the riffs also adding in a decent amount of melody. When the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard and the drums are also more aggressive than the guitars..
At times a small amount of distorted guitars can be heard on a few tracks while the tremolo picking also gives the music more of a raw feeling when they are utilized. All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them along with the music also having its melancholic moments and the album closes with an instrumental.
Adaga plays a style of black metal that is mostly unplugged and very original sounding as well as adding in some depressive touches to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Portuguese and cover darkness, occultism, chaos and death themes.
In my opinion Adaga are a very great sounding unplugged black metal duo and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "No Limiar da Morte" and "Nas Ruinas do Ser -Pt. II". 8 out of 10.
