Voidfire are a band from Poland that plays a v ery aggressive and melodic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2022 album "W Cienie" which will be released on September 30th by Szataniec.
Clean playing starts off the album before going into a heavier direction while also introducing melodic guitar solos and leads onto the recording. All of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast b eats can also be heard.
When tremolo picking is utilized they also give the songs more of a raw feeling while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams. The riffs also add in a great amount of melody along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and most of the tracks are also very long and epic in length.
Whispered vocals and spoken word parts can also be heard on a few songs along with the clean playing also making a return in certain sections of the recording as well as some growls also being added on one of the tracks, one song is also a brief instrumental which also adds in a small amount of synths. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Polish and is a concept album that cover the search for artistic inspiration in one's emotions - mainly the negative ones.
In my opinion Vpoidfire are a very great sounding aggressive and melodic black metal b and and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Niepewnosc" and "...Cienie szalenstwa". 8 out of 10.
