L.A.C.K are a solo project from Italy that has been featured before in this zine and plays a depressive form of post black metal and this is a review of his album "The Fragile(Soundtrack For The Tormented)" which will be released in 2016 by Nostalgia Productions.
Post rock style clean playing starts off the album along with some acoustic guitars and after the intro the music goes into a heavier direction while also mixing in synths at times as well as alternating between both clean and heavy parts and when vocals are added into the music they are mostly high pitched depressive black metal screams.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and the solos and leads remain true to a very dark and melodic style of modern atmospheric black metal and a great portion of the tracks are very long and epic in length and when the music speeds up it shows more of a raw side of the genre along with a small amount of blast beats and there is also a brief use of clean singing vocals, spoken word parts and female singing on a couple of the songs and the music sticks mostly to either a slow or mid paced musical direction and the last track is all instrumental.
L.A.C.K controls the melodic, atmospheric and depressive black metal style that was established on the last recording while also expanding on the post metal elements to create a very dark and melancholic recording, the production sounds very dark, raw and heavy while the lyrics cover dark and depressive themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from L.A.C.K and if you are a fan of depressive post black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Nothingness" "Your Reflection" and "The Fragile". 8 out of 10.
