Radogor are a band from Russia that plays an atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of their 2012 album "Enlightenment" which was released by Satanath Records.
A very dark and atmospheric sounding synths starts off the album along with some nature sounds for a couple of minutes and after the intro the music goes into a heavier direction while also keeping the atmospheric elements as well as mixing in more ambient touches which also gives the music more of an epic feeling.
When vocals are added into the music they are grim black metal screams and the solos and leads also use a great amount of melody and spoken word parts can also be heard at times while the vocals can also get very depressive at times while some songs also being in a small amount of clean playing and all of the music sticks to a very slow musical direction while the last track does close with blast beats.
Radogor plays a style of ambient black metal that is very slow, atmospheric and epic sounding, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover philosophy, nature, and misanthropic themes.
In my opinion Radogor are a very great sounding atmospheric, ambient black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "I Would Like You To Fall In Love" "Light Sadness" and "Take With You". 8 out of 10.
