Virvel av Morkerhatet are a band from Ukraine that has been featured before in this zine and goes for more of an avant garde black metal sound on the new recording and this is a review of their album "Metamorphosia" which will be released in 2016 by Avantgarde Music.
A very dark and distorted sound starts off the album along with some sound effects being utilized and once the drum beats kick in the music speeds up along with some blast beats and you can hear a modern and technical style of black metal in the bands approach to the genre and after the intro the music gets melodic.
Vocals are mostly high pitched grim black metal screams and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and spoken word parts can also be heard at times and the music also brings in a lot of progressive and avant garde structures and the music also adds atmospheric elements at times.
Growls and clean singing in certain sections of the recording and some of the tracks are very long and epic in length and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the solos and leads the band uses also add more melody and skill to the bands musical style and they add in a touch of ambient on the closing track.
Virvel av Moterhated plays a style of black metal that is very atmospheric, heavy, grim and also mixes in a lot of avant garde elements, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover hatred, insanity, diseases, urban degeneracy and darkness themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Virvel av Morkerhatet and if you are a fan of atmospheric and avant garde black metal, you should check out this album.
