Istapp Interview

1.In April you have a new album coming out, musically how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past?

We have finally discovered an antidote for the sun and this time our hymns are more forcible, fatal and definitive! Earlier we have spellbounded humanity with our divine melodies and chants. and lead their way into battle but now the threat are much more extensive so this is the guidance for the final attack! "The Insidious Star" is the natural continuation from our previous releases.

2.This is your first album in 4 years, can you tell us a little bit more about what has been going on during that time span?

We have been constantly fighting off the severe heatwaves that continuously hits the once so pure snowball earth. The glowing orb and its worshippers, who bathe their feeble flesh in the burning rays ,needs to be extinguished once and for all!

3The band refers to its music as being 'True Blekingsk Black Metal' can you tell us a little bit more about this term?

The term True Blekingsk Black Metal is only a way for us to mark our auditory terror and lure more warriors to our constantly growing ranks. The grey mass believe in religious lies and afterlife in a place called heaven. What they don't know is that their suffering will be legendary, even in hell!

4.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the newer music and also how would you describe your progress as songwriters over the years?

This release is the first one were the songs are sung in different languages. Blekingska, English and German. The lyrical themes on this one extends to topics such as our alliance with hideous mythological creatures, the battle of Muspelheim, death of young children, supreme snipers, our strongholds in Blekinge and how to bring forth eternal winter, absolute zero and finally erase the sun!

5.You also have a song on the new album that deals with Norse Mythology, can you tell us a little bit more about your interest in this topic?

We have evoken the cold beasts from Norse Mythology since the beginning of our campaign. Now we expand our legions with monsters from all over the world. Alvrödul, the bringer of light, needs to be exterminated so that nothing can exist but cold!

6. I know that the bands name means 'Icicle' in Swedish, how does this name fir in with the musical style that you play?

When you walk the pathway to Orrekulle and the view of thousands of impaled corpses on icicles meets you, then you might understand!

7.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the new album cover?

For this album we really needed an extraordinary talent and therefore choose Pär Olofsson as commander. He visualised what is to come for the inhabitants of the planet earth.

8.What are some of the best shows that the band has played over the years and also how would you describe your stage performance?

Baden In Blut and Finnkampen is two memorable battlefields! Our so called "performance" is the  frontline of our army where we command our troops and increases their fighting spirit to show no mercy and take no prisoners!

9.Do you have any touring or show plans once the new album is released?

We will march for war at April 26 on the preparty for Stockholm Slaughter. There will indeed be a slaughter to remember! Other battlefields will be revealed further on.

10.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

Our vision has nothing to do with music. We intend to hunt down and kill every single life form who gazes upon the sun in awe and to bring about a new reign of Ice that will remain forever.

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your newer music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

We are not influenced by bands or musical styles. Music for our ears are the despairing voices of the dying worshippers!

12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
