Horoma Exordium are a band from Scotland that plays a very aggressive mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of their self released 2019 ep "A Modern Act of heresy".
A very fast and raw sound starts off the ep along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams while death metal growls and influences are also added into the music at times and the riffs also a dd in a decent amount of melody.
All of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them while all of the tracks are very long and epic in length. Throughout the recording you can also heat a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the music also getting very brutal sounding at times as well as mixing in atmospheric elements into the heavier sections of the music, melodic guitar leads are also utilized at times.
Horoma Exordium plays a musical style that is mostly rooted in the fast style of black metal while also adding in some of the brutality of death metal to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover dark, metaphysical, philosophical and corruption themes.
In my opinion Horoma Exordium are a very great sounding aggressive mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Celestial Body" and "A Modern Act Of heresy". 8 out of 10.
