This is a review of another recording from Brazil's Sarcofago which showed the music going into more of a mixture of war, black and death metal and the ep was originally released in 2000 and called "Crust" which the re-issue coming out in June of 2019 by Greyhaze Records.
Acoustic guitar playing starts off the ep before going into a heavier direction which also introduces bestial growls onto the recording. Elements of war metal can also be heard quite a bit throughout the recording along with the solos and leads being done in a very chaotic style and the music also mixes in elements of death metal.
When tremolo picking is utilized it gives the songs more of a raw feeling while the faster sections of the music also add in a great amount of blast beats. A decent amount of dark sounding melodies can also be heard in the guitar riffing and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while black metal screams can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and the music is even more brutal than anything that they had released while they where around and took the style of I.R.N.I and mixed it with the more modern bestial black or war metal style of the early 2000's. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover death, horror and black metal themes.
In my opinion this was a very great sounding recording from Sarcofago and if you are a fan of this band or bestial black and war metal, you should check out this re-issue. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "F.O.M.B.M" and "Crust". 8/5 out of 10.
