Rvbber VVitch are a solo project from Montreal, Quebec, Canada that plays a mixture of black metal, noise, experimental, dark ambient and industrial and this is a review of her 2017 album "Mastvrbations Malveillantes MMXVII" which will be re-issued in 2021 by Werewolf.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the album along with the riffs also adding in a decent amount of evil sounding melodies. A great portion off the tracks are also very long and epic in length along with the vocals being mostly grim yet high pitched sounding black metal screams and blast beats can also be heard during the faster sections of the songs.
When tremolo picking is utilized it also gives the music more of a raw feeling while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the programmed beats also bring elements of industrial onto the recording.
At times the music also gets very experimental sounding along with the vocals also bringing in a more deeper approach on some of the tracks. Dark ambient style soundscapes and synths can also be heard in some parts of the recording and as the album progresses a small amount of noises are also added into the music. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in French and cover Satanism, and BDSM themes.
In my opinion Rvbber VVitch are a very great sounding mixture of black metal, noise, experimental, dark ambient and industrial and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Adoration de Satan" and "La fiancee du Diable". 8 out of 10.
