Konigreichssaal are a band from Poland that plays an avant garde form of black metal and this is a review of their 2020 album "Witnessing The Dearth" which will be released on December 12th by Cult Of Parthenope.
A very dark keyboard orientated intro starts off the album before going into a heavier musical direction while the solos and leads are done in a very melodic style. Vocals are mostly angry sounding black metal screams along with some spoken word parts and samples also being utilized at times.
The riffs also add in a decent amount of distorted sounding melodies while clean playing can also be heard in certain sections of the recording. All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them along with the solos and leads also being done in a very dark yet melodic style
At times the music also gets very avant garde sounding along with one of the tracks also adding in a brief use of choir vocals. Some of the tracks are also very long and epic in length as well as all of the music sticking to either a slow or mid tempo style and as the album progresses a brief use of throat singing can also be heard and the music also has its dissonant moments. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Polish cover anti religion themes..
In my opinion Kinigreichssaal are a very great sounding avant garde black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Der Kreuzweg" "Force Majeure" and "Bez Czasu, Bez Boga, Bez Was". 8 out of 10.
