Wømb are a duo from Portugal that has had music reviewed before in this zine and on this recording plays a very raw form of black metal and this is a review of their 2020 ep "Here, The World Falls..." which will be released on December 25th by Purodium Records.
A very distorted yet heavy sound starts off the demo while the faster sections of the songs also add in a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the music more of a raw feeling. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams along with some dark sounding melodies being added into the guitar riffing.
The music also adds in a decent amount of 90's influences while a couple of the tracks also adds in a small amount of ritualistic soundscapes. Most of the music also sticks to a faster musical direction along with the songs also adding in some more modern touches as well as only adding in a small amount of mid tempo sections.
On this recording Wømb remains true to the raw occult style of black metal that they had established on previous releases. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover the hidden worship of the inner black light that separates wolves from men.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Wømb and if you are a fan of raw occult black metal, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Abraxas In Ecstasy" and "Kalika". 8 out of 10.
