Nenuial are a solo project from Germany that plays an occult form of black metal and this is a review of his 2019 album "Zwielicht (Schattenwanderer)" which was released by Wolfmond Production.
A very dark, heavy and melodic sound starts off the album while the vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams. Most of the tracks are also very long and epic in length When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can also be heard and all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them.
When tremolo picking is utilized it also gives the music more of a raw feeling while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. At times the vocals also adapt to a more shouting and ritualistic approach along with the riffs also adding in a good amount of melody as well as one of the tracks also adding in a brief use of acoustic guitars, whispered vocals on one of the tracks the riffs also show an influence of thrash metal and the closing track also brings in elements of classical music.
Nenuial plays a style of occult black metal that is very aggressive sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Occultism, Left hand Path, Qliphoth and Sumerian themes.
In my opinion Nenuial are a very great sounding occult black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Hymn To Tiamat" and "Endless Blazes Of Stars". 8out of 10.
