Anomalie are a band from Austria that has had music reviewed before in this zine and on this recording plays post black metal and this is a review of their 2021 album "Tranceformation" which will be released in November by AOP Records.
Dark sounding synths start off the album before going into a heavier musical direction while clear vocals can also be heard on some of the tracks. All of the songs are also very long and epic in length along with all of the musical instruments on the recording also having a very powerful sound to them.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic post metal style while clean playing can also be heard in some parts of the album. When the music speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a feeling.
Nature sounds can also be heard briefly along with a couple of the tracks also adding in session work from members of Enthroned and Rotting Christ. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as the synths also mixing in with the heavier sections of the music at times, black metal screams can also be heard on some of the songs and a couple of later songs also adds in a brief use of acoustic guitars and violins. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Shamanism and Self Reflection themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Anomalie and if you are a fan of post black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Tree" and "Eternal Burden". 8 out of 10.
