Dark Vision are a band from Greece that plays a very aggressive and melodic form of black metal with some elements of death metal and this is a review of their 2021 album "Ianos" which was released by Cult of Parthenope.
A very dark, heavy yet melodic sound starts off the album while atmospheric sounding synths can also be heard at times. When the music speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling along with the vocals being mostly grim sounding black metal screams.
Death metal growls can also be heard in some parts of the recording while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Clear vocals and spoken word parts can also be heard briefly along with all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style along with one of the tracks also being very long and epic in length. Clean playing can also be heard ion one of the songs and they also bring in a cover of Christian Death's "Deathwish". The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover the struggle of the soul, fragments of darkness and the dystopic visions of the past and future.
In my opinion Dark Vision are a very great sounding aggressive and melodic black metal band with some elements of death metal and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RFECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Absurdity In the Abyss" "Of Unknown Artist" "Sulfur Vision": and "Keep". 8 out of 10.
