Zmarlym are a band from Poland that plays a very modern form of black metal and this is a review of their 2021 album "Druga Fala" which will be released in November by Godz Ov War Productions.
A very dark, heavy and melodic sound starts off the album while you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording. When the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can also be heard along with the vocals also being mostly grim sounding black metal screams.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very dark yet melodic style while spoken word parts can also be heard on a couple of songs. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with one of the tracks also introducing clear vocals onto the album.
Touches of industrial and electronic music can also be heard on some of the tracks along with some of the drum beats also being programmed as well as some of the fast riffing also adding in some raw tremolo picking, clean playing can also be heard in certain sections of the album. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Polish and cover urban themes.
In my opinion Zmarlym are a very great sounding modern black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Druga fala" and "Spacer" and "Czy to już...". 8 out of 10.
