Rosa Faenskap are a band from Norway that plays a patricidal form of black metal and this is a review of their 2023 album "Jeg Blir Til Dreg" which was released by Fysisk Format.
A very distorted yet heavy sound starts off the album while the mid tempo sections of t he songs also bring in elements of post hardcore. Vocals are done in more of an angry shouting style while the faster sections of the songs also add in some raw black metal style tremolo picking and blast beats.
Melodies are also added into a lot of the guitar riffing while clean playing and acoustic guitars can also be heard in certain sections of the recording. All of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them along with the songs also mixing in a lot of shoegaze touches and the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style.
Spoken word samples can also be heard briefly along with the songs also adding in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Growls can also be heard in certain sections of the recording as well as a couple of the tracks also being very long and epic in length and when guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style, synths can also be heard on an instrumental. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Norwegian and cover left wing politics.
In my opinion Rosa Faenskap are a very decent sounding mixture of post black emtal, shoegaze and hardcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Livredd" "Aldri" and "Neonlys". 7 out of 10.
