Драгшанъ are a solo project from Bulgaria that plays a very experimental form of black metal and this is a review of his self released 2017 ep "Въжделения".
A very powerful sounding bass guitar starts off the ep along with some very dark yet melodic riffing a few seconds later. Vocals are mostly grim black metal screams while the solos and leads are done in a very dissonant style while also utilizing a decent amount of melody and the music also adds in a good amount of avant garde structures.
When the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can also be heard while the songs also bring in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. When tremolo picking is utilized it also gives the music more of a raw feeling and at times the music also gets very progressive sounding, clean vocals can also be heard briefly.
Драгшанъ plays a style of black metal that is very avant garde sounding while also taking a more raw and extreme approach on the style. The production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics are written in Bulgarian and cover philosophical themes.
In my opinion Драгшанъ are a very great sounding avant garde black metal solos project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Днесъ". 8 out of 10.
