Lugburz Sleed are a band Ukraine that had some of the earlier material reviewed in this zine and on this recording plays a mixture of atmospheric black metal and space ambient and this is a review of their 2018 album "Attractor" which was released by Distrokid and also consists of remastered tracks from their 2008 album "Epoch of Former Times" which I did a review of 6 years ago.
Field recordings start off the album along with some ambient style synths which also use a variety of many different sounding keys and drum programming a few seconds later. All of the tracks are very long and epic in length. Both of the newer tracks are instrumentals and also stick to a space ambient musical direction as well as the second track also adding in a good amount of spoken word parts.
A very dark, heavy and atmospheric synth orientated sound starts off the bonus tracks while also introducing grim yet depressive black metal screams onto the recording. At times the riffs also get very repetitive sounding by using the same riff for a few minutes at a time in some parts of the music.
A small amount of melody can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing while one track also introduces acoustic guitars onto the recording briefly, and the riffs stick to mostly a slow or mid tempo direction. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover anti-human, anti-life and suicide themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Lugburz Sleed which displays their newer space ambient material and remastered versions of their atmospheric and depressive black metal style from 2008 and if you are a fan of both musical genres, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Voy age solus ipse" and "Loss Of the Past". 8 out of 10.
