Triumvir Foul are a band from Portland, Oregon that started out playing more of an old school death metal style but have evolved into more of a bestial black/death metal direction on this recording and this is a review of their 2019 ep "Urine Of Abomination" which will be released on March 29th as a joint effort between Vrasubatlat, Invictus Productions and 20 Buck Spin.
Harsh noises and power electronics start off the ep before going into more of a heavier and brutal direction. All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them while the vocals are a mixture of bestial death metal growls and black metal screams and the music has a lot of 90's influences.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in more of a chaotic style while the faster sections of the songs also bring in a great amount of blast beats. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some elements of war metal in the faster sections of the music.
Harsh noises also make a return in certain sections of the recording while the song is divided into 4 different chapters along with the riffs also adding in a brief use of melody and the music also retains some of the old school death metal style of previous releases. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover blasphemous themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Triumvir Foul and if you are a fan of bestial black/death metal, you should check out this ep. 8 out of 10.
