Beyond Man are a band from Norway that plays an diverse form of black metal and this is a review of their self titled 2021 album which will be released in June by The Sinister Flame.
A very dark sounding synth orientated intro starts off the album before going into a very fast and raw black metal direction which also utilizes a great amount of blast beats. Vocals are done in mostly an angry shouting style while also adding in some grim sounding screams at times and all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while elements of doom metal can also be heard in the slower sections of the songs. Most of the tracks are also very long and epic in length along with one song also introducing clean vocals onto the album.
The songs also add in a good mixture of both old school and modern influences along with the guitar solos and leads also being done in a very dark yet melodic style when they are utilized, as the album progresses synths also make a return on a later track as well as adding in a brief use of death metal growls. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover darkness and occultism themes.
In my opinion Beyond Man are a very great sounding diverse black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED RACKS INCLUDE "Art Beyond Man" and "The World Encircler". 8 out of 10.
