T.O.M>B are a band from Pennsylvania that h as had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a mixture of occult black metal, d ark ambient, noise and death industrial on most of their releases but go into more of an experimental style with this recording and on this recording they team up with Joy Shannon a solo artist from Ireland and plays Celtic folk music and on this recording they both team up and mix their different styles together and this is a review of their self released 2022 collaboration ep "Death My Bride".
Cello's start off the ep and also gives the music more of a avant garde vibe along with some clean vocals a few seconds later which also add in touches of Celtic folk music. Ambient style soundscapes and drones can also be heard in the background and the whole ep also sticks to a slower musical direction as well a s some harp's also being utilized at t imes..
On this recordin T.O.M.B move away from the black metal and death industrial style of their regular releases and bring in more of an experimental, drone and ambient style to the Celtic folk music style of Joy Shannon. The production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover Irish Folklore themes.
In my opinion this is a very great sounding collaboration between T.O.M.B and Joy Shannon and if you are a fan of dark ambient, drone and neo-folk, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Song To The Siren". 8 out of 10.
