Spell Caster are a solo project from Cleveland, Ohio that plays a very raw and atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of his 2025 demo "The Fourth Pentacle Of Saturn" which was released by Elf Eggs.
A very lo-fi and distorted sound starts off the demo while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams. When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling and the recording also has its atmospheric moments.
One of the tracks is also very long and epic in length while melodies can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing at times. Synths are also mixed in the background and the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts, when guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very dark yet melodic style.
Spell Caster plays a style of black metal that is very raw, lo-fi and atmospheric sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Occultism, Death and Darkness themes.
In my opinion Spell Caster is a very great sounding raw, atmospheric and lo-fi black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACK "The Conjuration And Curse Of Fire". 8 out of 10.
