Bhagavat are an international band with members from both Italy and Switzerland and plays a very extreme form of black metal with some elements of death metal and this is a review of their 2013 album "Annunciazione" which was re-issued in 2015 by RockShots Music.
A very dark and avant garde sound starts off the album and after the intro the music starts going for more of a brutal and melodic style of black/death metal which also introduces blast beats and high pitched screams onto the recording and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Gregorian chants can be heard in certain sections of the recording and when solos and leads are utilized they are very melodic and technical sounding and some of the tracks also bring in elements of modern extreme metal while some songs also bring in a small amount of atmospheric sounding synths and the songs also bring in a great amount of variety along with all of the musical instruments all having a very powerful sound to them and towards the end one of the tracks also brings in a small amount of clean playing while the last track brings in more of a raw black metal style.
Bhagavat plays a style that is mostly rooted in black metal but also mixes in melody, technical parts, atmospheric elements and a great amount of death metal influences to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes and are also written in a mixture of both English and Italian.
In my opinion Bhagavat are a very great sounding mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "To Burn A Lair Of Snakes" "Black Tongue Of Ground" and "MoKsa". 8 out of 10.
