Ritual Possession are a duo from Tennessee that plays a very dark, raw and old school form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2015 ep "Solitude".
A very dark and raw black metal sound starts off the album and a few seconds the music the music goes into a more faster direction and adds high pitched screams and blast beats onto the recording and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the whole album has a very old school feeling.
While the band is from the United States their music style has a very vintage early 90's European black metal sound and all of the musical instruments sound very powerful and you can also hear a decent amount of melody coming out of the guitar riffing at times and on later tracks a small amount of growls are added onto the recording and the last 2 tracks also bring in a small amount of keyboards and noises.
Ritual Possession plays a style of black metal that is very dark, raw and old school sounding while also adding in decent amount of grimness and melody, the production sounds very dark and while while the lyrics cover darkness, death and cold themes.
In my opinion Ritual Possession are a very great sounding dark, raw and old school black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Beneath The Demon Moon" and "Black Winds Of The Mountain". 8 out of 10.
