Leere are a duo from Switzerland that plays a very raw and old school form of black metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Bleak" which was released by Gravity Entertainment.
A very dark and slow black metal sound starts off the album along with soem grim vocals which also takes the music into more of a raw direction as well as speeding up and introducing blast beats to the recording and the music also brings in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
All of the songs are very heavily rooted in the 90's second wave style and clean playing and acoustic guitars can also be heard in certain sections of the recording along with a small amount of spoken word parts and some of the songs also bring in atmospheric synths at times and there are also a few tracks that are long and epic in length and the vocals get more angry as the album progresses and they close the album with an instrumental outro that also adds an avant garde ending to the recording.
Leere plays a style of black metal that is very raw and old school and has a very vintage 90's sound and all of the songs sound like they could of easily been recorded and released during that era, the production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Leere are a very great sounding raw and old school black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Bleak" and "Spiritual Emigration". 8 out of 10.
