This is a review of a split 7 inch between Spain's Cryptic Wanderings and In The Shade which was released by Negra Nit Distro and we will start off the review with Cryptic Wanderings a band that plays a very raw form of black metal and their song "The Black Scaffolds Of The Hangman".
Their side of the split starts out with demonic growls and clean playing before getting more heavy and going for a very fast raw black metal direction that uses a great amount of blast beats and a small amount of morbid sounding blast beats and the vocals keep the demonic elements while also adding in more grim screams and a few seconds of clean singing and the song also brings in a great mixture of mid paced and fast parts and the leads also remain true to a raw and chaotic style of black metal, the production sounds very dark, raw and old school while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Cryptic Wanderings are a very great sounding dark and raw old school orientated black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split.
Next up is In The Shades another band that plays a very dark and raw form of black metal with their song "Place Of Penance".
Their side of the split starts out with a very slow, dark and melodic black metal riff and you can also hear the bass guitars in the background and a few seconds alter grim vocals are added into the music and after awhile the songs speeds up and adds in blast beats while with a more raw style of black metal and the song is long and epic in length, the production has a very dark and raw sound while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion In The Shade are a very great sounding dark and raw black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split.
In my opinion this is a very great sounding 7 inch and I would recommend it to all fans of black metal. 8 out of 10.
