Vulturine are a band from Brazil that plays a very raw and satanic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Tentaculos da Aberracao" which was re-issued on cassette by Caverna Abismal Records in the year of 2015.
Ritualistic spoken word parts start off the album before going for more of a raw and old school black metla sound that alos utilizes blast beats and high pitched screams that can also get very grim at times and the music seems to be equally influenced by both the first and second waves of the black metal genre.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the music also brings in melody and atmospheric elements at times and most of the tracks are very long and epic in length while some songs also bring in a bit of the modern Swedish satanic/occult black metal sound at times. and spoken word parts also make a return in certain sections of the recording and when the vocals get deep and demonic they give the songs more of a blackened death metal feeling and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the last track also brings in a brief use of acoustic guitars.
Vulturine plays a style of black metal that is very dark, raw and melodic sounding as well as having a sound that would appeal to both modern and old school fans of the genre, the production sounds very dark, raw and heavy while the lyrics are written in a mixture of English and their native tongue and cover Satanism, Misanthropy and Anti Christian themes.
In my opinion Vulturine are a very great sounding raw, grim and melodic satanic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this cassette. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Devotion" and "You are Cancelled". 8 out of 10.
