Pale From Sunlight are a duo from South Dakota that plays an atmospheric and depressive form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2015 album "Love Was Never An Option".
Clean playing starts off the album and a minute later the music starts going into a fast and raw black metal direction along with some blast beats and high pitched suicidal screams as well as a good amount of atmospheric sounds and most of the songs are very long and epic in length and also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Depressive style melodies can be heard quite a bit throughout the recording and the band also brings in dark ambient style synths at times while some of the guitar leads bring in a touch of post black metal when they are utilized and on some of the tracks the vocals start adding more grimness in their depressive approach.
Pale From Sunlight plays a style of depressive black metal that is very modern, raw, atmospheric and suicidal sounding, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover dark, depressive and suicidal themes.
In my opinion Pale From Sunlight are a very great sounding atmospheric and depressive black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Till Death Does His Part" and "Last Sunrise". 8 out of 10.
