Sodium Thiopental/Death Awaits/2015 Demo Review

  Sodium  Thiopental   are  a  solo  project  from  Turkey  that  plays  a  mixture  of  noise,  dark  ambient  and  depressive  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released demo  "Death  Awaits".

  Clean  playing  starts  off  the  demo  along  with  some  radio  static  in  the  background  and  after  a  minute  the  music  goes  into  more  of  a  raw  black  metal  direction  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  elements  of  ambient   and  the  songs  are  all  instrumental.

  All  of  the  songs  stick  to  a  very  slow  musical  direction  and  the  music  can  also  be  atmospheric  and  epic  at  times  with  the  synths  taking  over  at  times  and  the  songs also  bring  in  elements  of  harsh  noise  and  spoken  word  parts  can  be  heard  in  certain  sections  of  the  recording.

  Sodium  Thiopental  plays  a  musical  style  that  is  mostly  rooted  in  dark  ambient  and  noise  but  also  mixes  in  elements  of  depressive  black  metal  to  give  the  songs  more  of  a  heavier  sound  as  well  as being  instrumental  and  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw.

  In  my  opinion Sodium  Thiopental  are  a  very  decent  sounding mixture  of  dark  ambient,  noise  and  depressive  black  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan of  those  musical  genres,  you  should check  out  this  solo  project.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Here  it  Comes"  and  "Same  Shit  Over  And  Over  Again".  7/5  out  of  10.
