Blut & Bod are a band from Denmark that plays a very raw form of pagan black metal and this is a review of their album 2019 "Ligaeder" which will be released in February by Iron Bonehead Productions.
Militant beats along with some epic sounding synths start off the album before going into a heavier direction while the vocals are mostly grim black metal screams along with the music also bringing in a great amount of 90's influences and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard.
When tremolo picking is utilized it gives the music more of a raw feeling while the music also mixes in elements of punk at times along with the songs also bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as the vocals also getting deep at times and also adding in a small amount of angry shouts, synths are also mixed into some of the heavier sections of the music and all of the riffing is done on power chords.
Blut & Bod plays a style of black metal that is very raw and old school sounding while also mixing in some elements of punk, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Danish and cover Norse Mythology themes.
In my opinion Blut & Bod are a very great sounding raw pagan black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "UI" 'Sindet styrter" "Velt din gud" and "Ravne". 8 out of 10.
