This is a review of a split ep between Serbia's Nadsvest and Portugal's Necrobode which will be released in March, 2021 by Iron Bonehead Productions and we will start off the review with Nadsvest a duo that plays an old school form of black metal.
Their side of the split starts out with some chaotic sounding guitar solos and leads while the synths also gives the songs more of an atmospheric feeling. When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling.
The music also adds in a decent amount of 90's influences along with the songs also adding in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Vocals are mostly grim yet high pitched black metal screams along with some melodies also being added into the guitar riffing as well as a brief use of clean singing, when guitar solos and leads ar e utilized they are also done in a very dark yet melodic style. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in their native tongue and cover Serbian Dark Folklore and Black Arts.
In my opinion Nadsvest are a very great sounding old school black metal duo and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Ustolicenje smrti I".
Next up is Necrobode a band that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a bestial mixture of war, black and death metal.
Their side of the split starts out with Some rain and thunder sounds along with some dark soundscapes before going into a heavier musical direction. Grim black metal screams can also be heard at times while the vocals also add in a great amount of bestial growls and dark sounding melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing.
The music also brings in a decent amount of 90's influence mixed in with a more modern era aggression. The music also adds in a great amount of war metal elements along with the faster sections of the songs also adding in a decent amount of blast beats as well as the guitar leads being done in a very dark style when they are utilized. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Portuguese and cover Satanism, Blasphemy and War themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Necrobode and if you are a fan of bestial black/death and war metal, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Pisados Pelos Cascos de Satanas". 8 out of 10.
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and would recommend it to all fans of black and war metal. 8 out of 10.
