Heresiarca are a duo from Chile that plays a ritualistic mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of their 20220 album "Triumph Of Ishtar" which was released by Australis Records.
Ritualistic soundscapes start off the album and also mixes in with the heavier sections of the music at times. When spoken word parts are utilized they also enhance the occult atmosphere of the songs while some tracks also add in clean singing and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can also be heard.
When tremolo picking is utilized it also gives the songs more of a raw feeling while the vocals are mostly grim yet high pitched black metal screams. A great portion of the tracks are also very long and epic in length along with some dark sounding melodies also being added into some of the guitar riffing.
Clean playing and stringed instruments can also be heard briefly along with all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them. Touches of middle eastern music can also be heard in some parts of the recording as well as some of the heavier riffing also mixing in elements of death metal as well as the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and as the album progresses a brief use of movie samples can also be heard. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Egyptian, Middle Eastern Mythology, Occultism, Old Testament and Historical themes.
In my opinion Heresiarca are a very great sounding ritualistic mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of thos e musical genres, you should check out this duo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Job Revelation" and "Truimph Of Ishtar". 8/5 out of 10.
