Electromancy are a solo project from Oakland, California accompanied by robots and plays an experimental form of black metal with elements of death metal and this is a review of his self released 2021 ep "Robot Black Metal" which will be released in April.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the ep along with some electronic sounds also being added into the heavier sections of the songs. When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling and the vocals are mostly black metal screams.
Spoken word parts can also be heard briefly while the music also gets very experimental sounding at times. Elements of death metal can also be heard at times along with all of the drum beats also being programmed and the second track is a cover of Darkthrone's "Transilvanian Hunger" a song I feel that has been covered way too many times by bands and in 2021 bands should be more creative in their choice of cover songs instead of doing the same ones over and over again but it is a decent version.
Electromancy plays a style of black metal that is very experimental and electronic sounding while still using the use of heavy guitars. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover the solo artist's battle with his physical disability.
In my opinion Electromancy are a very decent sounding experimental black metal solo project with elements of death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "The Spark". 7/5 out of 10.
