Vladimir Pavelka is a solo artist from Slovakia that plays an atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of his 2021 album "Spomienky (Memories) which will be released on February 26th by Beyond Eyes.
Nature sounds and clean playing start off the album while spoken word parts can also be heard briefly before going into a heavier direction. All of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them along with the riffs also adding in a great amount of melody and the synths also give the songs more of an atmospheric feeling.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style while the faster sections of the songs also add in some blast beats and tremolo picking which also gives the music more of a raw feeling. A great portion of the tracks are also very long and epic in length along with most of the songs also being instrumentals.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the music also adding in elements of post metal as well as the music also capturing more of a cinematic atmosphere as the album progresses while the production sounds very professional.
In my opinion Vladimir Pavelka is a very great sounding atmospheric post black metal solo artist and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Detske hry (Children's Games) "Poobedny odpocinok (Afternoon Rest)" and "Vyh'ad do okalia (Views Of Surrounding...)". 8 out of 10.
