Unshriven Aghast are a band from The United States that plays a melodic form of satanic black metal and this is a review of their 2020 demo "Beacons of Revolt" which was released by Stygian Black Hand.
A very fast and raw so8und starts off the demo along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams as well as a couple of the tracks also being very long and epic in length and the music also mixes in a great amount of classic Finnish and Swedish influences.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the riffs also add in a good amount of melody. All of the songs also avoid the use of any guitar solos and leads along with all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them and all of the tracks stick to a heavier direction.
Unshriven Aghast plays a style of black metal that is very raw, melodic and traditional sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Satanism and Darkness themes.
In my opinion Unshriven Aghast are a very great sounding melodic satanic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACK "A Long Lost Curse In Deafened Air". 8 out of 10.
