Greece's solo project Daemon Of Oa has returned with a new recording which shows him going into more of an old school black metal direction and this is a review of his self released 2018 album "Awaiting The Unborn".
Grim black metal s creams start off the album along with some fast riffing which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking which also gives the songs a more raw feeling while the faster sections of the songs also use a great amount of blast beats as well as all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them.
A great amount of 90's influences can also be heard in the music while the riffs also bring in a decent amount of melody along with the music also sounding like it could of easily been recorded and released more than 20 years ago and all of t he songs stick to either a fast or mid paced direction.
On this recording Daemon Of Oa goes for more of a raw and 90's style of black metal, the production sounds very dark, raw and old school while the lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism, Witchcraft and Darkness themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Daemon Of Oa and if you are a fan of raw and old school black metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Cult of The new Moon" "Under Satanic Moonlight" and "Thessalian Witches". 8 out of 10.
