Jyotisavedanga are an international band with members from India, Russia and Ukraine that plays a mixture of war, black, death metal, power electronics and harsh noise and this is a review of their 2018 album "Thermogravimetry Warp Continuum" which will be released in June by Larval Productions.
Power electronics start off the album along with some spoken word samples a few seconds later while atmospheric synths are also used at times and they also mix in with the heavier sections of the songs and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats and war metal elements can be heard.
Vocals are mostly bestial blackened death metal growls while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them along with the songs also bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and when guitar leads are utilized they are done in a very dissonant fashion as well as the riffs also bringing in a small amount of melody and as the album progresses the music starts incorporating more elements of harsh noise and the closing track is very long and epic in length.
Jyotisavedanga plays a musical style that takes war, black, death metal, power electronics and harsh noise and mixes them together to create something very different, the production sounds very dark, raw and lo-fi while the lyrics cover astronomy, astrology, occultism, and quantum science themes.
In my opinion Jyotisavedanga are a very great sounding mixture of war, black, death metal, power electronics and harsh noise and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Quantum Integers Systematic Deduction" and "Imploding Linear Fusion Propulsion System". 8 out of 10.
