Ad Omega are a duo from Italy that plays a dissonant form of black metal with elements of ambient and industrial and this is a review of their 2023 album "Aphelic Ascent" which will be released in February by Drakkar Productions.
A very heavy, melodic and dissonant sound starts off the album along with some high pitched black metal screams a few seconds later. When the music speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats van be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling and the music is heavily rooted in a more modern style.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic and dissonant style while all of t he musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them. The songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with one of the tracks also introducing synths onto the recording.
One song is also an instrumental along with some elements of ambient and industrial also being utilized at times and a couple of later tracks are also very long and epic in length. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Anticosmic Satanism, Chaos-Gnosticism, The Escatological end of times within Eastern and Western Traditions and the writings of Nietzsche, Frank Giano Ripel and Austin Osman Spare.
In my opinion Ad Omega are a very great sounding dissonant occult black metal b and and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Profane Mystic Crown" "Stellar Heritage" and "Cosmic Demise". 8 out of 10.
