Panzerkrieg 666 are a duo from Germany that has been featured before in this zine and plays a very fast, raw and old school form of black metal and this is a review of their 2023 ep "Wolfpack" which will b e released in March by Human Noise Records.
A very fast and raw sound starts off the ep along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams while the music is very heavily rooted in t he mid 90's era as well as some growls also being utilized at times and some of t he riffing also adds in a touch of death metal.
Spoken word samples can also be heard briefly while the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Most of the riffing is done on power chords and mostly avoids the use of melody to focus on a more aggressive style and the whole ep sticks to a heavier musical direction, semi clean vocals can also be heard briefly.
On this recording Panzerkrieg 666 remains true to the fast, raw and old school style of black metal that they had introduced on their previous release. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover War and History themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Panzerkrieg 666 and if you are a fan of fast, raw and old school black metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Flamethrower 41" and "Wolfpack". 8 out of 10.
