Blood On Black Leather is a solo project from Italy that plays an industrial form of black metal and this is a review of his self released 2023 ep "Thoughtful Remark About All Things" which will be released in March.
Tragic sounding keyboards start off the ep along with some elements of industrial a f ew seconds alter which also mixes in with the heavier sections of the songs at times. Melodies can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing at times as well as all of the drum beats also being programmed and a couple of tracks are instrumentals.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very dark yet melodic style while the vocals are mostly grim yet high pitched sounding black metal screams. When the music speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can b e heard which also gives the recording more of a raw feeling and the heavier songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Blood On Black Leather plays a musical style that takes industrial and old school black metal and mixes them together to create a sound of his own. The productions sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics poetic, psychoanalytic and hidden feelings.
In my opinion Blood On Black Leather are a very great sounding industrial black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "A Scar You Can't Hide A Secret You Can't Tell" and "II Filo di Lama". 8 out of 10.
