Iratus Nebula are a duo from Germany that plays a pagan form of black metal and this is a review of their 2023 album "Natur und Seele" which will be released in March by Wolfmond Production.
Nature sounds start off the album along with some clean playing a few seconds later while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style. The riffs also add in a great amount of melody along with the vocals being mostly high pitched black metal screams and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast b eats can be heard.
When tremolo picking is added into the faster riffing they also give the recording more of a raw feeling. All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them along with some angry shouts also being utilized at times and the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Some of the tracks also being very long and epic in length along with one song also being an instrumental and also introducing acoustic guitars onto the recording which also return on a later track, clear pagan vocals and clean playing can also be heard briefly. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in German and cover philosophy and the worship of nature.
In my opinion Iratus Nebula are a very great sounding pagan black metal duo and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this cassette. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Das weite Land" and "Winternacht". 8 out of 10.
