Gjendod are a band from Norway that plays a very raw form of black metal and this is a review of their self titled 2016 demo which was released by Hellthrasher Productions.
A very fast and raw black metal sound starts off the demo along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and after awhile grim black metal screams and melodic guitar leads are added onto the recording.
After awhile the songs bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the songs also stick to a very true Nordic tradition of black metal while also being more aggressive than most of the modern bands from their home land and when solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very dark and melodic fashion and the whole demo sticks to a very heavy and raw sound from beginning to ending of the recording and the last song is very long and epic in length.
Gjendod plays a style of black metal that is very fast, raw, aggressive and heavy sounding, the production sounds very raw yet heavy and powerful at the same time while the lyrics are written in Norwegian and cover genetics, death and anti Christianity themes.
In my opinion Gjendod are a very great sounding raw and aggressive black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Evig Svart Royk" and "Likdans". 8 out of 10.
